A good gin starts with the selection of the best raw materials. As an organic-certified distillery, we only use herbs and spices from organic cultivation. These are processed into a good gin with a lot of manual labour and careful distillation. As a Bavarian speciality, the 13 botanicals also include hop blossom and malt. After all, the distillers Max and Daniel set themselves the task of creating a Bavarian gin. With their distillery in the Munich area, they have succeeded in doing just that. The gin is named after Duke Henry the Lion, who is considered the founder of Munich.
After opening the cork, juniper notes and the slight sharpness of the alcohol are noticeable, accompanied by the sweet smell of orange blossom and lavender. The gin is particularly mild on the tongue, meaning that the Duke can also be enjoyed neat. The juniper flavours can also be tasted here, accompanied by a pleasant spiciness from the cubeb pepper. These notes are surrounded by light floral nuances contributed by the lavender. Hops and malt are also noticeable.
