The makers of this gin are true experts. One is an accomplished spirits expert and judge at international competitions and the other is a chemist in the food industry. We are talking about Henrik Hammer and his father. Both wanted to develop a unique gin. It was geraniums that captured their interest. The essential oils are gently dissolved through alcohol distillation. The gin itself was developed in England with the expertise there and is also produced there. The ten botanicals are macerated in pure grain alcohol for 48 hours. It is then distilled in a 100-year-old copper pot still called ‘Constance’. It is no wonder that experts were so enthusiastic about Geranium Premium Gin when it made its debut in 2009. This gin is particularly suitable for cocktails and long drinks. And even a simple gin and tonic becomes an experience with Geranium.
A clear juniper note is perceptible on the nose. The gin has a mild flavour and leaves you wanting more with its floral aroma. The juniper is also pronounced on the palate, which goes well with classic London dry gins. The floral nuances also come into their own. The flavour profile is very balanced and the individual aromas are shown to their best advantage. This recognises the elegance of Geranium Gin. The finish is long-lasting and brings citrus flavours into play. Here, too, it shows off its elegance, making it a premium gin indeed.
